Who, what, when, where and why?
Coordinate Dallas is nearly self explanatory: this site is to serve as a hub of event information regarding human rights and social justice happenings in Dallas with the goal of coordination rather than competition. I will gather as much information as I can to give you the 5 Ws of events in Dallas.
Being a human rights activists, I found it extremely detrimental to all activists' common vision for a better world if we constantly compete for time, space, money and audience. When planning Art for Darfur these past 4 years, I always wished that there would be some central source of information about other events going on that same time so we could avoid overlap. One year there were four or five other Darfur events going on the same day as our event. This was ludicrous to me. Rather than fragmenting our efforts in tireless competition, we should be looking to each other for support and collaboration (or at the very least, coordination). Hence, the beginning of this blog.
Come back to visit every now and then to see what is happening in the Dallas social justice and human rights movements, feel free to ask me questions about networking or advice for your cause, attend an event or plan one! Choose any of the previous actions and you've already turned the wheel of coordinated progress.
